New to me and from Mike is this 1983 Canadian (from Toronto) release from New Wave band TicToc, not to be confused with the electronic duo and Blitz Club scenesters Tic & Toc. They released just one album and this single “20 Questions”, with evidence of a more synth lead sound. This was the line-up
Ray Borg – vocals, synth, percussion
John DeFino – guitar
Tevan Kaplan – vocals, drums, percussion
Serge Porretta – bass guitar, keyboards
Produced by Terry Brown (Rush/Cutting Crew) it has bright synth stabs and a sequenced bassline with the vocals just on the right side of cheesy. Duran Duran meets Flock Of Seagulls spring to mind. The extended version goes off on its own groovy tangent lead by some super bass guitar.
B-side is a brilliant, driving instrumental that goes into some late night vocals towards the end.
