Blue World – Hello Darling (12″)

From 1985 and for fans of Blancmange. This was a short-lived project by band member, Stephen Luscombe who collaborated with long-time friend , it was only released as a twelve inch on Anagram Records.

It sounds like a Hindu version of “I Feel Love” with lots of samples from Bollywood films and has appeared on a few Blancmange “Best of” collaborations. The track is based around a sample of Indian comedian Kishore Kumar from a film called ‘Darling Darling’ which Luscombe saw as a teenager growing up in Southall.  Quite pioneering as you would expect. The B-side is a classy instrumental with plenty of World sounds cropping up throughout.
