November Group – Work That Dream (US Promo 12″)

Another new one to me. From 1985 and funky synthpop from Boston with the “coldwave” band , November Group. Vocalist and guitarist Ann Prim and keyboardist Kearney Kirby got their name from a group of German expressionist artists from early 20th century. Obviously inspired by a lot of European synth bands this was produced in Frankfurt by old hippy Peter Hauke, a well respected producer from the 70’s. Shades of SPK via Eurythmics with angular guitar sounds. Programmer Volker Barber flexes his PPG Waveform synth muscles and even gets a short instrumental named after him.
