A re-polish of an old track to promote a “Best Of…” compilation. (there will be a few of these marketing examples this weekend)
Originally released in 1977 and bearing the Glam rock beat but given a synth make over by founder Richard A. Hewson (hence the name) More up to date synth sounds but it seems to dilute the original’s sound of this great instrumental. From the album ‘Past, Present & Future.’
The Jazz Mix is less gimmicky , giving it well (er) more of a jazz flavour with bucketloads of saxophone.
B-side, “Star Dance” sounds a bit like the incidental music they use to put on the background when CEEFAX was being broadcast, a whimsical synth/organ instrumental (apart from the guitar overdub) that uses the preset rhythms of the keyboard, Bossanova and drum fills anyone?
