Not much from this guy on this blog, I do have bits that I ripped years ago that I might dig back out. From 1985 and off the album “The Secret Of Association” this finds Squeeze duo, Chris Difford and Glen Tilbrook, on backing vocals. Twangy sitar and a gospel edge, it didn’t do as well as was hoped and was probably the start of slide in public interest. However, one of the distinct voices of the 80’s.
Of interest to the muso’s amongst us is a cover of Billy Bragg’s , “Man In The Iron Mask”, synth drenched with a backing done in the style of Vangelis!! That why I love doing this blog finding little gems like this!
Two Live tracks on the flip just proves how good he was live. Surrounded by talented musicians (Pino Palladino on bass in particular) and backing vocalists (Tony Jackson, Jimmy Chambers and George Chandler) it certainly is slickly delivered with a very 80’s sound. Showcasing two tracks from each of his albums.
