The Lords Of The New Church – Like A Virgin (French 12″)

Following on from the recent parody of “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” we have this rock/punk version of the Madonna’s classic.

The Lords Of The New Church were more of a Goth/Psychobilly outfit and you get this in the style of the B-sides. The acoustic strum and slide guitar of the Bluesey “A Gun For Justice” highlight the vocals of Stiv Bator. “Method To My Madness” is more frantic punk thrash with a sing alomg chorus. Far better than that throwaway A-side which sounds like it was recorded in the garden shed. (Hence why I’ve put up the video for that song instead and this mad interview/live video of the other track.)

  1. Glad that there is someone reminding Lords of the new church. I still like their first recording. Thank you for this 12 inch.

    1. More than welcome. 😁
