So the launch of the Summer of 80’s with the Spandau Boys!!! A typical 80’s band and sound. Started off good and then went to middle of the road mediocrity.
So this off Mike, I’m going to do alternate posts (One from him one from me)
This one was from 1982 and before “Gold.” Seeing the band honing their sound after so weird excursions, “Muscle Bound” anyone. It appeared on the album “True” which was released a year later. Slickly produced by the production duo of Steve Jolley and Tony Swain (Imagination, Bananarama, Alison Moyet) and written by Gary Kemp. It has saxophone, Simmons Drums, synth brass and in some mixes a Rave air-horn ??? Catchy chorus and not really played much on 80’s revival radio. The Club Mix and 12″ mix I think are the same. The Dub version is weirdly fun, some studio showing off!!
ALL SPANDAU BALLET LINKS HAVE BEEN RE-UPPED!!! (An unofficial Spandau Day :))
