The Human League – Don’t You Want Me ’95 (Remixes) (2 x 12″)

It had to happen, so in 1995 this old track was given a load of remixes by a raft of techno/trance artists. Virgin Record exec’s must have rubbed their hands to try to milk some more money from this seminal track.

So Mike has uploaded both the normal and promo 12″s (for the completists out there)

So dealing with the normal twelve and the opening mix by Snap (the ones who brought us “The Power”). A faithful remix, with, I’m guessing, some re-recorded vocals so that you can sing along to. It does have the Snap signature sound of Euro House. The Red Jerry mix is slightly harder, Jerry Dickens being a well-respected Trance producer and founder of label Hooj Choons. Safe , “hands in the air” party tunes, but not a patch on the original.

Virgin ‎– VST 1557SAM_6818

A Don’t You Want Me (Snap 12″ Extended Remix)
AA Don’t You Want Me (Red Jerry 12″ Remix)

So onto the promo that has ome of the above tracks plus mixes from Oliver Lieb, the prolific Frankfurt producer. The Lieb mixes are much more atmospheric and have more elements from the original as well as some added sounds by Lieb (think X-files)

Virgin ‎– VGP000059

A1 Don’t You Want Me (Oliver Lieb Extended Mix) 6:46
A2 Don’t You Want Me (Red Jerry Dub Mix) 6:59
B1 Don’t You Want Me (Snap Extended Remix) 6:13
B2 Don’t You Want Me (Oliver Lieb Club Remix) 6:54

Gotta Catch Them All..
