Alison Moyet – Hoodoo (US Promo 12″)

A little step back to 1991 (thanks Mike !!) and this funky, gospel tinged offering from Alison Moyet, the title track of the 1991 album, “Hoodoo.” This had a very limited single release. Here François Kevorkian remixes the original track produced by Pete Glenister (Kirsty MacColl, Terence Trent D’Arby)Very much like MacColl’s “Walking Down Madison” this has plenty of synth horns and strings and should have been a hit.  There is a couple of long, squelchy dubs here, both very jazzy and reminding me of Yello a little bit, the “Starlight Mix” is very much Balearic beats, almost trip-hop.
