Wow, so much had changed from the early days of this guitar led indie band with the killer choruses, “Melt With You” should be on everyone’s 80’s compilation. So in 1991 we get a hybrid of dance beats and indie sensibility, I had to check it wasn’t Big Audio Dynamite! Modern English tapping into the Daisy Age. Far Out’s mixes rely on piano and guitar riffs and a rap by Truth & R.Spats on the 12″ version ??? Mase’s mixes. by Baby Huey from De La Soul, are more on a Hip Hop tip with scratching galore. The “dub” is quite stripped back, almost a cappella and probably bearable listen for curious fans. Off the album “Pillow Lips,” this does smack of desperation of an 80’s band trying to be relevant again in the 90’s.
