Respect feat. Phil Oakey ‎– What Comes After Goodbye (12″)

Obscure 12″ of the week from Mike and still in the year 1990!! Featuring the dulcet tones of Phil Oakey over a synth backing with harmonica and brass the Sheffield synth trio released a couple of singles and an album on major label Chrysalis. This is classic, catchy synth pop produced by Mark Stent and featuring a duet from Mister Human League and singer Josie Robson (who was previously in the band Sons And Lovers) . The 12″ is a very cheesy Phil Harding and Ian Curnow remix, I think I prefer the 7″ version! For synth anorak knowledge the B-side is produced by former Landscape member, Christopher Heaton with band member George Caplan. An atmospheric dance track with ibiza style piano, shuffle beat and some funky guitar.
