Thompson Twins ‎– Revolution (Extended Mix) (12″)

From 1985 and this see’s The Twins just waning in their popularity, hence releasing a cover of The Beatles”Revolution” with added synth/sampler parts. Jury’s Out on this, this was the last track off their “Here’s To Future Days” album. It was produced with Nile Rodgers and mixed by Brian Tench, the guitars are full on and it has a funky middle section but it seems to be trying too hard to be hip and overstays its welcome. The B-side is an instrumental of typical Thompson Twins musical influences with cut-ups of speech (a bit like Jarre’s “Zoolook” with a feel of a slowed down “We Are Detectives”

  1. Thompson Twins, never got to see them! About three weeks ago I had heard Tom Bailey’s new song off his new album, I actually liked it . He will also be touring here (On The West Coast – U.S.) over the next few months. No idea about abroad.
