Figures On The Beach – In Camera Obscura / Paradise (US 12″)

Some more Figures On The Beach and a double A-side from 1985. The group was composed of vocalist Anthony Kaczynski, guitarist John “Rik” Rolski, keyboardist Christopher Ewen, bassist Perry Tell and drummer and graphical jack-of-all-trades, Michael “Smitty” Smith Getting rockier on both tracks, especially”Paradise” where it sounds a bit like Simple Minds in their pomp.”In Camera Obscura” races on and builds and builds, they had been listening to a lot of Duran Duran (I agree with Post Punk Monk that it does sound like “Hold Back The Rain”).Both extended versions help bring out the synths and electronic percussion  All tracks were produced by Ivan Ivan and they were soon signed to Major label, Sire Records.

  1. I was precisely looking for this single, I love Figures On The Beach and In Camera Obscura is easily one of their best songs so it’s nice to hear more remixes of it. Thank you!

  2. Thanks for this. Loving the Obscure pre-major label FOAB stuff you’ve uploaded!
