Mike Lindup -The Spirit Is Free (12″)

Continuing on with the uncertain fate of the band artist going solo.

Mike Lindup keyboard player from Level 42 released a solo album in 1990 called “Changes” and this was the lead single and the only ever single released by him. Co-produced by Scottish producer and keyboardist, Calum Malcolm. It’s slightly religious in theme and is definitely on the synthpop tip. There is not much difference between the Extended and & 7″ versions. The B-side is the slow, moody instrumental “Jung” Sounding a bit like Yellow Magic Orchestra.  All quite rare stuff but so much like Level 42 that they even included it in their live set!
