Wire Train – Last Perfect Thing (12″)

So begins a Birthday weekend and the pleasant thrill of closing my eyes and dipping into my record bag of recent purchases. No quality control or eclectic ? You decide for yourself!

First up is this from 1985 and some dark indie jangle from San Francisco’s Wire Train, cue the Cure and Joy Division influences, via U2 influenced guitar. They have a website with an informative biography here, http://wiretrain.co.uk/biography/

A pleasant find and I wouldn’t thought they were American.

It never ceases to amaze me that you always find some more obscure, rare, or basically one of a kind finds. Keep in mind that most your vinyl bogged here, if not all of this stuff is awesome; all deserving a huge thank you!!!

As for this one – A greatly appreciated Thanks!!

I didn’t know they had this 12″. Could you re-up the link again? Much appreciated.

Honestly one HECK of a 12″ here! Found it when it was posted, but never commented. Wire Train were big in the Philippines with Chamber of Hellos, so when I saw this & gave it a listen, I was fairly surprised with their sound after! Very English-sounding new wave, and now one of my favorites from the 80’s.

Also, I found this 12″ from a friend who had no idea the B-side was Chamber of Hellos. He was a bit miffed/surprised when I bought it from him & showed him the b-side as it was something he wanted to keep.

Again, thanks for sharing this one!
