Charlie Sexton – Beat So Lonely (12″)

Around the time of mid 80’s American pop/rock was fully immersed into using synths with guitars, I always remember hearing ZZ Top and although the guitar welding and cocksure lyrics did grate I sort of nodded my appreciation at the synth bass line and stabs. I was totally unaware of Charlie Sexton (brother of fellow, pretty boy hair rocker Will Sexton) So from 1986 and probably trying to board the Billy Idol popularity train (with overtones of Bowie). Helped by the meaty remixes Francois Kevorkian and Michael Hutchinson enhancing the original production by Keith Forsey (Billy Idol’s producer) this was his debut release and a bit of one hit wonder.
