Lene Lovich – Wonderland (US 12″)

lovichLene Lovich attempted a bit of a comeback back in 1989 and this was taken off the album, “March.” Sounding like Cyndi Lauper’s great aunt with a heavy dose of Siouxsie and the Banshees thrown in, this has the trademark shrieks and yelps and suffers from very tinny late 80’s production, it’s all a bit dated but I can hack that in a nostalgic kind of way, especialy that Wurlitzer Organ sample. The London Mix was remixed by Lovich and long time collaborator, Les Chappell and is the more listenable and direct the other mix is very cluttered; quirky synthpop.
