Cyndi Lauper – She Bop (Special Dance Mix) (12″)

Keeping with the Trans Atlantic theme I thought I’d share some more Arthur Baker infused electronics for you. From 1984 and from Lady Ga Ga’s great Aunt, Cyndi Lauper this a great little 12.” Edited by the legendary Latin Rascals with every studio trck in the book, let’s not get into discussion about the topic of the song shall we?? Again the instrumental is a thing of beauty with the spaghetti whistles, primitive samples and pounding drums, probably not aired too much over the interweb. (Now where has long term follower Mr Disco gone too, reveal yourself!)

Also off her highly successful debut album, “She’s So Unusual” is the B-side, “Witness” a more reggae influenced track, with sparkly synths. Co-written by John Turri (member of Bulldog, Pepper) it swings along like a mix between Culture Club and The Police!
