Gary Numan – Call Out The Dogs (12″)

garywhiteStill in 1985 with some Numan ,this track being the off his 9th Studio album, “The Fury.” Funky industrial to give it a pigeon hole. This had samples and harder industrial edge, most of the samples coming from the film “Blade Runner” . Using the new PPG Wave Synth the sounds haven’t aged well. The backing female vocals (Tessa Niles and Tracey Ackerman) also give it a bit of an odd balance, the funky instrumental “This Ships Comes Apart” has them doo-wopping all over it, very grating. But it does have real bass, chugging guitar and saxophone. Other track, “No Shelter” was the intro music for the tour and does sound suitably moody.
