Sting – Englishman In New York (The Ben Liebrand Mix) (12″)

stinged90 From 1990 and a remix of the original 1988 track, bigger beats but still maintaining the jazzy, Courtney Pine clarinet. Additionally we have Jellybean doing a quite a good remix of the 1985 track “If You Love Somebody Set Them Free”, full on percussion! William Orbit and Rico Conning do far better job of modernising it without the tricks on the uncredited final track.

  1. another great track ben done a lot of good mixes on those years keep it up

  2. forgot to say some good stuff by that band there

  3. The main song was a firm favourite on the Russian radio (maybe still is). Actually lots of Sting’s songs were (are?). Remember being pussled when I looked at his UK singles chart positions as he rarely troubled even the Top-20 on his own. Not a big fan of his, but still quite a few great songs over the years, so a pretty good going!

    1. Sorted that for ya Captain 🙂

    1. Is there a trick with the re-ups? It’s saying the file isn’t there, but it’s less than a month since you uploaded it. Maybe I’m just old and crazy.

BTW, just downloaded Change His Ways – I haven’t listened to it since the 80’s – I can’t believe how much I enjoyed it! Thanks for resparking happy memories!

      1. Cheers for all your comments Stephen, they make it all worth it. I’ll sort this broken link…a bit like spinning plates 🙂
