Full Metal Jacket (Abigail Mead & Nigel Goulding) – I Wanna Be A Drill Instructor (12″)

drillcov From 1987 and is this the rudest thing ever to make the Charts? It got to Number 2 in October 1987! “Eskimo Pussy tastes mighty cold” Indeed!! Love the honesty on the label that it was made by a couple of Fairlight samplers and that Abigail Mead is actually Vivian Kubrick, Stanley Kubrick’s daughter (Nepotism) However it does contain some nice guitar licks by Kevin Armstrong (The Passions, Thomas Dolby) and Philip Palmer , esteemed 70’s session guitarist. The 2 mixes are slightly different , they all speed up and slow down and have that 80’s drum sound. The extra track , “Sniper” is direct from the soundtrack and a nice slab of moody synth. Motivational or chest/sabre beating, you decide!
