Phil Lynott – Nineteen (12″)

phillynotty ………and it was produced Paul Hardcastle, who says I don’t put a bit of thought into what I’m posting!

From 1985 and one of the last things released by Lynott this is a bizarre mix of rock and electronics, drum machines and synths with added motorbike noises. His heaviest solo release it does sound a bit like ZZ Top in terms of the techno rock sound. The guitar was provided by Robin George (Magnum, Damage Control) The dub mix just takes a majority of the vocals out. The extra track was a previously unreleased Thin Lizzy track with the mighty Gary Moore on guitar, originally from 1974 this was revisited in 1985 I really like the mix of classical strings (overdubbed) along with Phil’s maudlin vocal delivery, a true Rock God!
