Leisure Process – Cashflow (12″)

leisured2You can’t have an 80’s vinyl blog without a Martin Rushent (RIP) extended mix. So here one is, from 1983 and from the obscure band , Leisure Process. Sounding a bit like Fad Gadget with added glam rock guitar and definitely a nod to Iggy Pop. Ross Middleton (ex Positive Noise) and Gary Barnacle never released an album but their collaborations with Rushent produced some quality tracks and American radio station KROQ loved them. This, “Million Dollar Mix” has all the Rushent tricks including the clipped drum sound and a harder sound, a master of the studio.

B-side, “The Émigré 2” is a Tarentino styled instrumental, atmospheric with some great flute and saxophone from Barnacle , as you would expect.
