A classic from them from 1985, the one with Stevie Wonder on harmonica. Just before they went all rocky, this 12″ version is the remixed by Jon Bavin and Dean Garcia (who went on to form Curve) and keeps the synths upfront.
The strings are provided by soundtrack writer Michael Kamen!
B-side, “Grown Up Girls”, anticipates the sound of La Roux and is sharp stab of electro clash (synth & guitars) with a weird vocoded part at the start spoken in French as well ambient sound. Weird. As I always mention this blog is just as much about those forgotten B-sides.
