Howard Jones – Look Mama (12″)

howardyyBack to some mid-80’s stuff, 1985 to be exact and a man at the top of his popularity with a bit of an overlooked track. This super long version from the UK 12″ (HOW 7T, 249090-0) has even prog rock elements in a song all about clingy mums. Questionable lyrics aside this glitters in synth gleam and was the cutting edge sound of the time. A proper 12″ mix that never ends! plus 2 quality B-sides. “Learning How To Love” has the same crystal clear production and was probably a track recorded for the “Dream Into Action” album. Whilst the title track appears in a live version recorded at the Manchester Apollo on March 15th 1985 in front of screaming, mostly female fans.(What were the fans called, the Joneses?) Great bass-line btw , the vid of the performance is below.

A Look Mama (Extended Mix) 9:05
B1 Learning How To Love 5:20
B2 Dream Into Action (Live) 4:44
