The Fixx – One Thing Leads To Another (7″ Double Pack)

Well it had to make an appearance in all its vinyl glory. From 1983 (and with some songs from 1982 thrown in) this double pack was produced by Howard Jones` producer Rupert Hine. Four decent, contrasting tracks, “One Thing Leads To Another”, “Opinions”, “Red Skies”, ” Stand Or Fall” all with an eye on the American market. Inside the gatefold it’s a bit cringeworthy with loads of press releases hailing the bands success (“When it comes to `new music` the Fixx is in”)

It’s all New Wave, with big choruses, a smattering of new technology and reverbed guitar. Memories, like the corners of my mind !!

Still can’t find 😦

A One Thing Leads To Another
B Opinions
C Red Skies
D Stand Or Fall

  1. They are trumpeted in the US segment of the Internet, they were produced by Rupert Hine and, being a fan of (almost) everything New Wave, i feel I should like them, but – a very strange brand of music that does practically nothing for me. Very few melodies, a sound that’s neither here nor there… A magnificent vocal hook on “Stand or Fall” but otherwise an average song. The same with others: a good-to-great hook in the chorus but not much else… Still, they’re not dire, but to think that so many more deserving bands failed while they’ve succeeded…

  2. Mr DJ sir, any chance for a re-up when you get the chance?? And feel free to re-up a fixing of more Fixx if you so desire! Woof!

  3. Next time you do a tiny re-uppage any chance to give this hound his fixing of The Fixx 7″ Double Pack?? Woof!!

  4. Next time you do a tiny re-uppage any way to include this 7” Double Pack from the Fixx for this dawg across the pond??

      1. Ok no worries! Don’t need to give you more work… there’s always plenty to lap up here!
