Yello – She`s Got A Gun (12″)

With a fantastic cover from Jim Cherry, this is a timeless classic. I got the year wrong when recording this, it’s actually 1982, amazingly ! It’s all film noir and sound effects with Dieter Meier telling a detective story , very Mickey Spillane! For the fans it has the fast, mad “The Evening`s Young” (about booze and drinking) but also there is the long lost track “There Is No Reason” , another fast frantic track with Dieter practically shouting at the listener about a rubbish cabaret singer !!
It’s in fact credited on youtube as Yello and Richy Müller doing “There Is No Reason”, from the film directected by Dieter Meier back in 1981, “JETZ UND ALLES”. Credit must go to the late, Chico Hablas who provided the guitar on so many Yello tracks.

NEW LINK 2018!!!

Bonus track called “Bluehead” included…

A She’s Got A Gun
B1 The Evening’s Young
B2 There Is No Reason

  1. “She’s Got a Gun” is fantastic – very evocative and cinematic. it’s a pity they didn’t explore this direction more fully.
