Malcolm McLaren – Duck Rock Cheer (12″)

His Album “Duck Rock” was ground breaking in terms of both hip- hop and early sampling and bringing in sounds from Africa. This was from 1985 from the album “Swamp Thing”, two years after and with Stephen Hague producing. This was an album of outtakes from the Duck Rock album recorded by Malcolm McLaren because of contractual obligation.
The twelve inch sounds quite fresh and on the flip you get the bizarre “Boys Chorus” with the refrain “All Work, No Joy Makes Mac a Dull Boy.” Maybe a track about the great man’s childhood ? Both fantastically silly !

    1. Wow that was a while back. I’ll sort this put for Sunday.

  4. That would be great, thank you! And while you’re at it searching, found some even older 😀 From 2009, a post of three 12″, “Guilty Disco”: Trapped by Cameo, Single Life by Cameo and Streetwalkin’ by Shakatak. I’ll stop now 😉 Have a stressless weekend 😉

    1. Eh, Trapped was by Colonel Abrams of course

    2. Hi Musicus could you forward the weblink to these old pages, I’m intrigued. Was it “Tricky Disco” you wanted?

    1. Wow. I forgot about that old blog. Cheers and i will 😊

      1. I love the way the blog can be seen in Germany. I’m banned so I can never see it here in the UK !!!!!

      2. Well it can’t. I just saved some of the posts that I was not able to download at the time. So I can only see them offline. Thought maybe you had access to the real thing, since it was your blog.

      3. Nope, all those hours of writing and reviewing got taken away by Google
